OK, it's been a while...
I didn't realize it was 3 weeks since my last post.
Been a crazy ass couple of weeks - went to Berlin on a business trip. Left Monday, came back Thurs and only spent 2 nights in a hotel. Go figure!
Twins are sleeping less and wanting to play more. Now that they are experts are getting out of their cribs, they wake up so freakin early every AM, tip tap into our room and want to watch TV. That usually starts around 6AM. If only they could follow the lead of their big sister, who sleeps til 7:30AM come rain or shine.
Haven't done a ton of writing in the last week. Starting again today/tonight. I'm such a lazy butthead. I swear my novel could and would sell, and could even do fairly well across a number of genres. But I have to write the damn thing, and that's coming in fits and spurts!!
My goal is to have a first draft complete by May 1st, which is plenty of time IF I commit to sitting my ass down and cranking out pages. I've go about 110 pages written, 75% of which I'm very happy with, and the rest need more massaging. But I need to just plow ahead and not worry about editing until after I've finished the first draft. Easier said than done :)
Finished reading Dusk and now reading The Anubis Gates, by Tim Powers. LOVED the first 100 or so pages, found the middle a bit confusing and not as enjoyable, and I think the last 50 or so pages are coming together. After I finish this book, I'm going to read a classic that I've somehow missed after all these years - Salem's Lot!
OK, nuff said for now. Enjoy!
