It's late...but there are things to do.
12:30 and I just finished doing some writing. Over the last month or so, our twins have learned how to climb in and out of their cribs, and now grace us with their presence anytime one or the other wakes up. They end up going right back to bed once we put them in again, but it's quite interesting! As I sit here in front of our old desktop computer in our playroom in the dark...I expect to hear the pitter patter of feet. Knowing my luck, the minute I go to bed and fall asleep, someone will come bounding into our room.
Anyway, the writing is moving along at a faster clip than ever before. I have to be in SF city all day Monday for a meeting, and I'm going to take the train. That means I can get a good 30 minutes of writing in each way. I'll take an hour of writing any way possible!! This train thing is awesome. One of my New Years resolutions is to take the train into work twice a week. Especially with my company paying for it, it's a no brainer!!
I've planned a large Wisconsin college alumni weekend with all my close college buddies the weekend of May 3rd. I still keep in touch with a bunch of them, and they keep in touch with the rest, so I gathered everyone's email addresses and sent out a message rallying the troops around a long, long, long overdue reunion. I've got 9 guys meeting me at the Chicago airport on that Thurs, and we're all going to rent a couple cars and drive to Madison and spend 3 nights drinking. Going to be freakin hilarious! About half of these guys I haven't seen in ten years or so. What's the point, you ask? Well, another of my New Years resolutions is to have a first draft completed by that weekend. Seems like a good date to shoot for. I need something concrete to help me along, otherwise I end up procrastinating. I have four months to get my ass in gear and finish up. We'll see...
Reading Dusk, by Tim Lebbon. About 50 pages in. So far, so good.
Time for bed...any pitter patter?
