Birthday, Potter, twins, writing...

Well, the 7th of November is my b-day, and it's been a weird one. Today I'm one step closer to 40 than I am to 30. I don't quite like 36. I had hoped to have typed "The End" to my novel when I turned 35, and then again when I turned 36. I guess the good news is that I've got a much better story now than one year ago. I just finished Ch. 12 and I'm on page 90. I think it needs work, but it's definitely a nail biter. I'm doing a great job of ending every chapter with a "24/Prison Break" type moment - love that!

Stayed up til 1:30AM last night finishing Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire. WOW. I purposely didn't read the book until right before the movie came out, as I want to go in with a fresh memory of what happened. JK Rowling rocks. That was the quickest 700+ pages I've ever read. Loved it. Now I'm going to read a book called The Blood of the Lamb, by Thomas Monteleone. Mr. Monteleone and his wife Elizabeth own Borderlands Press, who are running the Boot Camp in Jan. This book by Mr. Monteleone was a big seller back in the day, and it's gotten some very good reviews. My plan is to read one book from each of the authors who will be at the camp. After this one, I'll read a Thomas Tessier book, followed by Jack Ketchum. Should be fun!!

My twin boys have been sick with really bad colds for the last week, and of course, on my birthday, decide to get worse. My wife called me at 5Pm to tell me they had both been screaming bloody murder for the last hour, which is unlike them. When I got home from work, they were still screaming. Long story short - at 9PM my wife took them both to the after hours clinic in town to have a doctor look at them. I hope they both have ear infections, this way we can get some medicine that should actually work, and they will then be on the road to recovery. I hate not knowing what's wrong with them. My daughter is fine...for now at least. Wife should be coming home any minute. Nuff for now...
