Life...and writing

So, my twin boys were born two month premature. They spent two weeks in the hospital, which shocked the nurses and doctors since they all expected at least a 3 week minimum stay. The boys come home, and two weeks later both get really sick with something called RSV, and spend another 10 days or so in the hospital. Since then, they've done an amazing job of growing up fast and furious...now almost 1 year old, they are both crawling (at various speeds) and look great. But...they are easily susceptible to getting sick. Jesse, the bouncer of the two, has this horrible wheezing cough and our doctor thinks he might have to go on some pretty serious medication to try and help make things better. It's almost midnight, I just finished writing another three pages of my novel (another great ending to a chapter!!), and when I get into bed, I'll be up for a while waiting for the coughing to begin. Hoping Jesse doesn't wake himself up and start crying. Which in turn will probably wake up his little twin, Sam.

On a lighter note, DOOM was sooooo disappointing. Where were all the damn creatures? It was a fine movie, but could have easily been so much better. The script sucked big time. Sometimes I'm shocked that a movie such as DOOM, with a huge fan following, a major brand name, and the potential to be a massive worldwide hit...gets the greenlight based on a suck ass script. And to make matters worse, I went to college with one of the producers. She should know better! And to make matters worse and worse again - my friend who writes screenplays out in LA (most of which are based on my ideas, thank you very much), writes one thousand times better than the DOOM hacks...yet can't find an agent or someone to purchase one of his scripts that are infinitely better than DOOM

Ah well...such is life.
