A cool ending to a chapter

What a great feeling - working on a chapter in my novel, trying to figure out how it'll end with a proper and unexpected twist, and then BAM!!! Nothing feels more satisfying than writing the words you know make that chapter close with a memorable ending. I just finished writing Ch. 7, where the reader is introduced to the main antagonist. The chapter as a whole definitely will need some editing, as I'm sure what I wrote in the first couple of pages aren't as direct and intense as the last page...but I'm not worried about that. I have to continue writing, otherwise I'll never move on if all I do is edit. Time for editing will come after I've written The End. And that, my friends, is the goal!!

Going to read Douglas Clegg's "Mischief" next. I've read great things about this novel, and I'm hoping it also educates my writing. I need to read something really gripping and intense and amazing all at once. Something I can learn from. Or, i can re-read some of my favorites, like Hell House or I Am Legend...

Saw Fantastic Four late Sat. night. It was fine. Was at its best nailing the Torch/Thing relationship, which I thought was the best part of the movie. I thought a number of the special effects were poorly done. After watching Spidey 2 a million times with my daughter and marveling each time at Doc Ock and Spidey, I expect Fox to do nothing short of spectacular with the FF...Also wished Fox and Marvel had hired someone with a more action based resume. I'll definitely buy the DVD when it's released, and maybe I'll up my grade upon a second viewing. Recommended, but with caution :)

That's all for now. G'night!
