HAVE to finish this book!!

Just got back from a great vacation, seeing family and friends in NYC. Ate a ton of great sushi, pizza, bagels and lox and spent quality time walking around my old haunts. Dropped some money at Midtown Comics - love that place!!

Anyway, we had dinner at a good friend's house in a beautiful town and I realized I really really really need to get on the ball. I realized that because while my current job could produce some sizeable returns for me via stock options, I know in my heart my real talent lies in the creative worlds of novels, screenplays, etc...The only way my family and I are going to have the things we want in life (material things i speak of!) is via me and my efforts. I know the odds of succeeding in the publishing industry is so huge I should just delete all that I've written and spend the rest of my life catching up on sleep. BUT...I truly believe I can do this. I can write this first novel that will resonate with an agent, resonate with a publishing house, resonate with readers, and sell copies :) And then write more. And more. I want to be in the business of telling stories and entertaining people. And I know I can do it. I just have to buckle down, suck it up and write...

On that note, I did think up a great new screenplay idea i shared with my screenwriting friend a couple days ago - he's all over it. I need to flesh out a couple key ideas, but once that's done, we'll start writing and maybe this is the one that gets us through the door.

Now, back to that novel...
